What’s the role?
The Mental Health Clinician (Social Worker) is a new position at Outlook Psychology Practice. The Mental Health Clinician will play a key role in the provision of providing culturally appropriate, effective, efficient mental health assessments, risk management and recommendations for on-going care of Outlook Psychology clients, their families, and significant others.
Duties include:
- Provide a high-quality service that includes mental health assessments, development of appropriate interventions; and provide recommendations for on-going care, family work, counselling, advocacy in collaboration with other stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes
- Ensure continuity of care for clients through participation in stakeholder meetings, networking with other community service providers
- Ensure clients receive culturally appropriate services, the use of interpreters and commitment to cultural education and communication
- Ensure records are maintained through accurate data collection, appropriate recording and file keeping
- Ensure the highest quality services is provided through continuing professional development, participation in clinical and cultural supervision
Is this the right role for you?
- Relevant qualifications in Mental Health Social Work that meets membership eligibility requirements of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Substantial post registration experience in providing a high level clinical social work services to clients, families/carers and the ability to provide an effective service as a member of our team
- Eligible for and willingness to obtain a Medicare and relevant insurance provider number for billed services
- Demonstrated competence in assessment and clinical interventions that are trauma, crisis, illness adjustment, loss, and grief for clients of different ages and backgrounds
- Demonstrated empathy for, and understanding of, the psychosocial issues of our clients.
NT PHN/RWA NT may be able to offer relocation support and clinical educational financial assistance to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
