About the Role
The Counselling team are part of the Children, Young People and Families Service. The position is located at Forster Community Health with the flexibility to work across the Lower Mid-North Coast. You will work alongside other Psychologists and Social Workers as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team, meeting the Counselling needs of children, young people and their families in our area.
You will be part of a supportive Counselling team and wider paediatric allied health team, within the Children, Young People and Families Service. The successful applicant will receive orientation and training while in the role. We encourage and support both internal and external support, with regular monthly clinical supervision and the completion of mandatory education requirements.

About you
Candidates will have skills in team work and be able to adapt their communication style to target their audience. You will be responsible for a busy case load of clients, whom often experience psychosocial complexities. The role requires you to use evidence based assessments and interventions to meet the needs of the clients and their families/carers. Our areas high indigenous population requires candidates to have a good understanding of Closing The Gap and to be working towards cultural competence.
