This role would suit a Social Worker, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse. The right Provisional Psychologist would be considered, and primary supervision can be provided to the right candidate.
This is a Part-time Fixed (30.4 hours per week – 0.8 EFT until 31/12/23) opportunity based in Blacktown within our “A Place To Go”/ Homeless Youth Assistance Program” in Blacktown .

Position Purpose:
This role works with 10-17-year-olds in temporary, trauma informed accommodation. The model addresses the immediate needs of the young person by providing accommodation in a safe and nurturing home-like environment and therapeutic supports. The role provides evidence informed practice to support the team, as well as working with families and young people.
We work to address the causes of their homelessness or offending, with the aim of re-connecting them back to their family, education and community.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline is essential.
- A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
- Post Graduate training in relevant child, adolescent and family clinical practice, family work and systemic thinking is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated practice knowledge areas relevant to work with traumatised and vulnerable children, young people and families which may include child development and the impact of trauma clinical work with children, young people and families, mental health, drug and alcohol, disability or other trauma related behaviours.
