SOCIAL WORKER / PSYCHOLOGIST

Arcare is seeking to engage a passionate and experienced Psychologist / Social Worker to join their care teams.  This full-time position provides high level allied health support and care for our clients working between a minimum of the 2 residences, with the potential ad hoc support for our neighbouring locations.

 

About the Role

Arcare is seeking a Psychologist / Social Worker to become part of our direct care delivery team providing support for our clients and their families. The successful applicant will play an integral role in support and advocacy, assist in addressing life challenges and enhance client and team wellbeing within our Residences.

 

Client service provision will include one on one as well as group counselling, setting up and conducting group sessions that focus on client psychosocial wellbeing, participation in case conferencing, actively identifying depression as well as other mental health concerns, and instigating GP referral.

 

The Psychologist / Social Worker will work closely with our Lifestyle team for the relevant delivery of support services, assisting team members and volunteers through education and coaching, to develop and nurture a wholistic understanding of how we build exceptional experiences for all at Arcare.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology or Social Work
  • Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA, or as a Social Worker with AASW.
  • Knowledge of Accreditation and the Aged Care regulatory environment (desirable)
  • A broad understanding of the life challenges of the aged population
  • Complex case management skills
  • Experience in developing and conducting wellbeing programs
  • Experience in conducting one on one group counselling
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Genuine interest and passion to work in Aged Care
  • Current NDIS Clearance
  • Fully approved Covid-19 vaccinated
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience, including Excel skills
