St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Lismore is a not-for-profit acute Surgical Medical Hospital operating under the auspices of the Trustees of The Roman Catholic Diocese of Lismore since 1921. Services include  medical, surgical, HDU, palliative care, oncology, renal dialysis and rehabilitation, with childcare and aged care facilities also on campus. Hospital Social Worker

Part Time/Casual/Contractor 

A vacancy exists for a highly motivated Social Worker with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. The successful applicant will be expected to be able to ensure high level service to patients, their families and carers and will provide assessments, counselling, mediation and case management to inpatients, particularly on the rehabilitation and medical wards as well as oncology and renal. This position will also be responsible for conducting assessments, care planning, brief interventions and discharge planning to clients accessing the service. The incumbent will liaise with other health care professionals within St Vincent’s Hospital  to ensure a high level of patient centered care. 

To be successful, applicants will need to possess the following:

• A degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification and member or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW);
• A minimum of one year’s experience in Social Work with demonstrated entry level competencies, skills and knowledge in conducting assessments, case management and counselling;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Ability to work well within a multi disciplinary team;
• Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads.
