West Gippsland Healthcare Group are seeking a suitably qualified Social Worker to join the team in fixed term, part-time capacity, until late February 2024. There is the possibility for a contract extension, which may be reviewed towards the end of the fixed term period.
The successful applicant will provide services for the patients across the West Gippsland Hospital (Warragul) Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit (SSU). The primary focus of the position will be to follow a multidisciplinary team approach to the psychosocial assessment, care needs, referrals and implementation of the discharge plan for the patients in the ED and SSU.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Social Work and be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers. This role will suit a social worker with previous experience in a healthcare setting, however applications with varied previous experience are also welcome. Regular supervision will be provided, in addition to day-to-day guidance from our supportive team.
IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be fully (3 doses) vaccinated for COVID-19 and Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
