Brisbane Domestic Violence Service (BDVS) is a specialist domestic violence service for the Brisbane metropolitan region. The primary role of BDVS is to provide free and confidential services to women and children, partners in an intimate relationship and family members who are affected by domestic or family violence.
Micah Projects is running an ongoing casual recruitment pool for Specialist Domestic and Family Violence Advocates to support people affected by domestic and family violence to live free from abuse and promote change within community and systems to achieve safety, equality and respect.
Hours of work for these positions can vary involving weekday, weekend, and night-time work. Availability across 24 hours/7 days a week is desirable. These positions are casual and are classified under the SCHADS Award 2010 – Level 2.
We are seeking candidates with the following skills & experience:
- Demonstrated experience in working with people in a human service setting
- Relevant experience and or appropriate qualification including certificate, diploma and tertiary qualification.
- Ability to work across a variety of shifts within a roster including after hours, weekends and public holidays.
- Evidence of COVID-19 fully vaccinated status.
- Positive Notice Working with Children Blue Card.
- Ability to work in Australia.
