About the Position

We are looking to welcome a Domestic and Family Violence Practitioner to provide specialist advice and assistance to colleagues and people contacting the service. This role is to 31 March 2024, continuing subject to ongoing funding.

This position is classified Level 5 under the SCHCADS award. Salary range is $93,860 – $98,112 plus super. We offer excellent salary packaging options which can significantly increase your take home pay.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Assess referrals into the service to screen for domestic and family violence.
  • Undertake risk assessments where domestic and family violence is identified.
  • Provide colleagues and enquirers with advice on safe engagement strategies for families affected by domestic and family violence.
  • Assist with the assessment of client needs and decisions regarding intensive support, case management and referral pathways.

About You

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services).
  • Professional registration (if required) and membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
  • At least 5 years working in a domestic and family violence capacity.
  • Experience and knowledge of domestic and family violence issues including theory, dynamics and the impact on individuals, families and communities.
  • Ability to engage, empower and build strong working relationships with a diverse range of clients, stakeholders, partners and colleagues.

Other Requirements

  • Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
