Yemaya Women’s Support Service 

Specialist Family Violence Practitioner 1 FTE

Permanent Position  

Yemaya Women’s Support Service is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced woman to undertake this position (exempt from the Anti-Discrimination Act 1998 (Tas)).

 

Location: Launceston, servicing the 63 area (Northern Tasmania).

Conditions: Full-time (1 FTE), permanent position. Please note there is a 6-month, probationary period.

Qualifications: Possession of relevant tertiary qualification and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field. 

Salary: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 Level 6.1 to 6.3 (depending on experience).

 

About Yemaya

Yemaya Women’s Support Service is a specialist family violence service that has been providing support to women in Northern Tasmania since 1992. Direct service delivery includes specialist trauma-informed counselling and group work, advocacy, referral, and case management for all women who have experienced family violence. Yemaya further engages in community development through community liaison and education and service networking and partnerships. Yemaya holds a central position in the Northern Tasmanian family violence response system. 

 

The role

This Specialist Family Violence Practitioner role requires an approach underpinned by a focus on feminist, trauma-informed, evidence-based frameworks, to achieve key outcomes for women who have experienced family violence. 

We are looking for someone with a high level of experience in intake and assessment, therapeutic counselling and group work, advocacy, case management and community development and education.
