About the role

 

CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay is seeking a Specialist Lead for our Specialist Homelessness Services and Lindara Family programs to provide support to caseworkers and clients of the women and families team.

This is a 5 day per week full time role for a max term contract. You will have varying work locations to suit the needs of the team including working at Dom’s Place, CatholicCare’s drop-in community hub in Hornsby, as well as Marsfield and Waitara locations as required

You will have 5 direct reports including intake & triage worker and caseworkers, and work alongside 2 other program leads who support the wider homelessness program

Duties

  • Provide Crisis Management mentorship, support and guidance to staff to manage their cases safely and in the best interest of the families we assist.
  • Effective and supportive staff supervision.
  • Ensure program reporting and compliance needs are met.
  • Engage in wider team meetings
  • Support staff with client escalations, incidents and managing risk
  • Work with other program leads and practice manager to allocate clients and assess clients for CatholicCare transitional properties
  • Assess and approve brokerage needs for clients within delegation
  • Provide higher level advocacy where needed for clients
  • Engage with the wider CatholicCare Integrated Services team
  • Attend training and engage in formal supervision
  • Attend the Safety Action Meeting on behalf of the team
  • Engage with key stakeholders
  • Collect and provide data, and case studies with practice manager for contract compliance

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area (PHD or master’s degree in clinical or counselling, Psychology, Social work or related subject area).
  • Knowledge/experience of the NSW housing and homelessness sector, and domestic and family violence
  • Experience in supervising and training of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated networking and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage crisis situations.
  • Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check.
