The Accoras Team
headspace Inala is an established Youth mental health service, focused on delivering improvements in the lives of young people aged 12 to 25 years. Our multi-disciplinary team of health professionals provides early-intervention supports to young people in the areas of primary health, mental health, drug and alcohol services, and vocation and education services.
Accoras operates headspace Inala, in a lead agency capacity. We collaborate with a consortium of local health and community partner organisations to provide complementary services to young people accessing our centre.
Accoras has been supporting children, young people and families across South-East Queensland for 30 years. We deliver a range of programs aimed at providing early intervention mental health services for people of all ages. The Role
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide career development advice, vocational and employment assistance to young people currently engaged with headspace Inala, up to the age of 25. You will work with the headspace clinical team to ensure young people can achieve and maintain sustainable participation in vocational education and employment. A high proportion of your time will be spent in the community where you will support clients to:
- Identify employment and education goals;
- develop a career profile and individual employment plan in collaboration with the clinical support team;
- Conduct regular job development and job search activities;
- Liaise with Disability Employment Services or jobactive providers to meet mutual obligations or requirements;
- Identify and meet individual needs and to ensure work trials and placements are appropriate for individual skills, experience, interests and capacity; and
- Actively engage with potential employers and stakeholders to establish local job placement opportunities.
This is a full-time, fixed term contract until 30 June 2023, with contract extensions aligned to renewal of funding. Based at our headspace Inala office, you will travel within the Inala region with all work-related travel reimbursed.

About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Services or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience in the sector;
- Demonstrated experience in a similar client-facing role within vocational rehabilitation or employment services and in working with young people experiencing barriers to employment;
- Demonstrated experience placing and supporting young people with complex needs in employment and educational settings;
- The ability to work autonomously to achieve goals and key outcomes for young people;
- Outstanding presentation and communication (written and verbal) skills;
- Existing knowledge of the mental health or community sector;
- Strong organisational and case management skills, with the ability to coordinate activities relating to a number of different clients; and
- A proactive, confident approach to building relationships and gaining the trust and reliance of potential employers and stakeholders.
As this role involves daily travel within the community, you must also hold a current drivers licence and have access to a reliable, fully insured motor vehicle.

To be eligible for this position you must have the right to live and work in Australia and hold a current driver’s licence. A working with Children Check, evidence of full COVID vaccination status and a Police Check will also be required.
