Specialist Youth Clinician Ballarat Community Health

The Opportunity

We have an opportunity at our headspace site for a Specialist Youth Clinician, where you will deliver specialised assessment, short-to-medium term multidisciplinary treatment and case management to young people aged between 12-25 who:

  • Experience emerging or current mental health problems
  • Have a persistent and enduring mental illness, including severe mental illness

You will deliver evidence based interventions to promote recovery, using the Early Psychosis Preventions & Intervention Centre (EPPIC) model (Orygen Youth Health). 

What you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification of Clinical Psychology or Mental Health Social Work is required
  • Experience in treatment provision to youth with complex and severe presentations is essential 
  • At least 5 years post graduate clinical experience
  • Relevant intake, assessment and case management experience with specific skills in the early identification of emerging mental health issues and the development and implementation of plans for young people is essential

Headspace Ballarat helps young people aged 12-25 who are experiencing difficulties and going through tough times to provide assistance with general health, mental health, emotional wellbeing, education, employment and alcohol and other drug services. Ballarat Community Health (BCH) provided a broad range of services to the general community of Ballarat, with outreach services delivered in the Central Highlands regions and beyond.
