Speech Therapist (Speech and Language) Nurturing Gnomes Pty Ltd

JOB DESCRIPTION

Calling all New Graduates and Senior Speech Therapists, we want to speak with you! (pardon the pun)

About us:

Nurturing Gnomes was established in January 2022 by Naomi, a teacher who has worked extensively in the trauma, challenging behaviour, inclusion, and wellbeing space and who’s family have repeatedly experienced the premature baby and medically complex world themselves. Living in this world, the family realised that the quality of care they desired for their neurotypical, neurodiverse and medically complex children really wasn’t available…so they’ve created it!

Nurturing Gnomes began with In-Home & Community Support and Private Nannying. However, due to ongoing requests from families, we have expanded and now also have a Paediatric RN Service, provide Play Therapy, Social Work/Art Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Parent Workshops. And there
is so much more to come!

Our growth has been significant, growing by over 50% in the last 3 months alone, and we need your help to continue to offer our expanding services to our families.

Why choose Nurturing Gnomes as your next “work home”?

Our staff say it’s because we offer:

  • Flexible hours: full-time or part-time, it is completely your choice.
  • Calm, welcoming environment, which supports staff, and has a community feel from the moment you walk in the door.
  • Seeing and hearing the families leave happier than when they arrived, is what it is all about.
  • Knowing the business comes from a big heart to help and give back to community.
  • Having the sweetest therapy dog (Dottie) on hand for cuddles.
  • A lovely, hands-on ‘boss’ who loves her staff as much as the families in her business. She has a huge heart, a soft hand and is approachable.
  • Family focused team and environment – highly supportive workplace.
  • Building trusting relationships and seeing the positive impact this has on not just the young people but the family unit – holistic approach.
  • Autonomy in the workplace, which supports employees to be creative and innovative in their practices.
  • A passion for achieving best practice standards and child-centred approaches through staff training, supervision, and mentoring.
  • An approachable management team who prioritises staff wellbeing.
  • Fun team-building activities, such as personal training sessions, family fun days, and social events, which encourages employee collaboration, boosts morale, and highlights a healthy work/life balance.
  • Working in paediatrics provides a strong sense of purpose; contributing to the overall well-being, development and early intervention for children and their families is emotionally rewarding
  • Professional Development is valued and supported.
  • Resources Budget is generous and timely.
