The Opportunity to join our Team and make a difference
As a Spiritual and Pastoral Care Coordinator, your role will be to coordinate and ensure the provision of spiritual and pastoral care within the Anglicare’s service in that area, and ensuring that accessible, appropriate and timely spiritual and pastoral resources are available.
This role is based in Logan and will work Part Time with a 32 Hour Fortnight.
Your role in supporting Anglicare will include
- Provision of pastoral support to clients, staff, and volunteers of Anglicare within professional scope.
- Manage the scheduling of your client visits in line with service and client requirements.
- Liaise with management, staff and clients to provide accessible, appropriate and timely pastoral and spiritual care.
- In conjunction with the managers, implement routines and activities to provide reliable and effective pastoral and spiritual care coverage.
- Provide professional/operational supervision to Pastoral Care volunteers.
- Coordinate religious, spiritual and pastoral care providers and volunteers to ensure a seamless single point of contact (POC) for all religious, spiritual and pastoral care activities.
- In consultation, actively seek for appropriate volunteer support, especially amongst local Christian communities.
- Arrange for access to appropriate ongoing training and skill enhancement for the pastoral care team.
- Promote the work of the spiritual and pastoral care team within Anglicare and in the local community.
What you will bring to the role
- Minimum of one Basic Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education or Cert IV Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care or equivalent.
- Demonstrated participation within a local Christian Community.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated sense of one’s own spiritual identity and a history of appropriate regard for others.
- Ability to manage and provide appropriate pastoral care volunteer team co-ordination.
- Demonstrated ability to follow organisational and business process.
- Understanding of the Aged Care Act and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements relating to the Aged Care and Disability Sectors.
- Experience in a pastoral care/hospital/community care setting (desired).
Successful candidates will also need to b able to provide a National Police Certificate, Covid Vaccination Certificate and complete a Pre Placement Health Questionnaire.
