Due to the design of a new Spiritual Care Approach, Eldercare have an exciting new role available for an experienced Spiritual and Pastoral Care Coordinator for Residential Aged Care.
As Spiritual and Pastoral Care Coordinator will lead the implementation of Eldercare’s new Spiritual Care Approach, and includes a Spiritual Care Service Approach, Chaplaincy Practice Approach, and Spiritual Care Operating Model.
You will be responsible for leading the provision of integrated services encompassing individualised wellbeing approaches that align with the Eldercare ‘Model of Care’ supporting mind, body, and spirit.
This role provides leadership, direction, and guidance to ensure Spiritual, Religious and Pastoral Care service delivery meets professional standards and reports directly to the Executive Operational Services and works closely with the broader organisation including Chaplains and volunteers who work within the Eldercare Pastoral care Program.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree in theological studies or its equivalent from an appropriately accredited college or university.
- Ordination, commission, or similar recognition by an appropriate religious authority according to that authority’s standard practice and policy.
- Completion of four units (1,600 hours) of clinical pastoral education (CPE), consistent with the Australia and New Zealand Association for Clinical Pastoral Education Standards. Two of these units may be equivalencies.
- Completing a minimum of one-year full-time chaplaincy experience upon completing four CPE units.
- Extensive experience in both pastoral supervision and training.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain a budget for spiritual/ pastoral care.

To work for Eldercare, you are required to have a police clearance valid for working in aged care (unsupervised contact with vulnerable people) and the clearance needs to be less than 12 months since date of issue.

- from 1 June 2021, you must provide evidence of your seasonal influenza vaccination or a valid medical exemption
- from 29 January 2022, you must have two doses of a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine and within 4 weeks of becoming eligible in accordance with ATAGI guidelines receives a booster dose, or a medical exemption endorsed by the Chief Public Officer or her delegate.
