About the role:

A fantastic ongoing opportunity to join Box Hill Institute as our Student Scholarship and Welfare Officer!

As part of our Student Life Team, the Student Scholarship and Welfare Officer is responsible for managing and administering the Institute’s portfolio of internal Access and Equity scholarship funds and third party scholarship funds.

You will have the opportunity to manage the scholarship program and identify areas for growth as well as improving the donor and recipient experience. Building relationships with donors, recipients and educational faculty members will play a large part in your role; as well as working collaboratively with your team and all stakeholders across Box Hill Institute.

This position aims to ensure that students have access to or referral pathways to financial support services and receive the necessary guidance to thrive academically and personally. Refer students to appropriate internal and external financial support services including financial counselling, budgeting, Centrelink, housing and food insecurity services.

The Student Life Team works cooperatively with students and teachers to provide an engaging, positive and supportive learning community enabling high student retention and success, where the student voice is heard, and is reflected positively internally and to prospective students and clients.

Please note; this role is an ongoing opportunity, 4 days (0.8 FTE) per week. Salary is PACCT 5.3 $75,318 pro rata per annum (exclusive of superannuation).

About You:

  • A relevant qualification in Social Work, Associate Diploma in Welfare Studies, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated successful and significant experience in delivering welfare-related support in an education or relevant working environment and familiarity with financial and accommodation issues and community resources relevant to students
  • Sound experience working within scholarship administration, implementation and management, within an educational environment would be advantageous
  • Communicates effectively across all levels of a large organisation. Ability to communicate complex information in a clear manner to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to develop clearly articulated student scholarship pathways demonstrated through clear processes
  • High level administration experience and ability to be accountable for own workload
  • Experience in successful promotion of scholarship programs via marketing platforms
