We offer more than 400 courses, from Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)/Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL)/ Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS), through to nationally accredited qualifications such as certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, degrees, graduate certificates, graduate diplomas and short courses.

ABOUT THE ROLE 
 

You will be accountable for leading the operations and strategic activity of student success and wellbeing support functions across the Senior Secondary College Business Area.  With responsibility for a broad range of services in Chisholm’s provision of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), including Vocational Major (VCE-VM), this role supports the Manager and Education Managers to lead the coordination of the Non-School Senior Secondary provider (NSSSP) policy and the associated teaching, learning and wellbeing framework. Ultimately, this position ensures positive student engagement, retention, certificate completions and other successful educational outcomes, such as articulating pathways into higher education or employment. 

 
Your key accountabilities will be to:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate strategic educational programs for enhanced student success and wellbeing across all Senior Secondary courses at Chisholm
  • Lead, plan, develop and implement VCE student welfare policies and procedures that align with other Chisholm polices and processes to underpin student success
  • Lead an efficient and proactive approach to student, family and teacher communications on educational and wellbeing matters pertaining to VCE student success, including complaints
  • Develop and review major policies, objectives and strategies for VCE cohorts involving high level liaison with internal and external client areas
  • Support business growth of the key Chisholm target market segment of youth (16–19 year-olds), including associated responsibilities for marketing activities and gathering, synthesising and disseminating research and market intelligence on this demographic to ensure Chisholm remains responsive to the needs of this VCE market and our SE Melbourne community
  • Develop and facilitate professional learning initiatives for VCE staff that focus on youth development to improve teacher capability and engagement with a young cohort.

ABOUT YOU
You will have a relevant tertiary qualification, and post graduate qualification and experience, or extensive management and leadership experience in a counselling, social work, community services or education related discipline or, an equivalent combination of relevant management and leadership experience and/or education or training.
 
Crucial to your success will be your high level of theoretical and operational knowledge of VCE student wellbeing initiatives, your strong interpersonal, empathetic and negotiating skills, your exceptional communication skills, including the ability to confidently address large and small audiences and you have previous experience gained in similar roles in the secondary school or tertiary education sectors.
 
You are a highly motivated and have strong interpersonal, empathetic and negotiating skills.
