SEDA College WA has an opportunity for an experienced and motivated Student Wellbeing Coordinator to join our team full-time, on a 12-month contract (with extension upon successful initial term), commencing 10 January 2023. The Student Wellbeing Coordinator is an essential part of the College’s Student Connect team whose sole purpose is to actively contribute to the facilitation of workshops, initiatives, and events, in relation to the College direction and our approach to child safety and wellbeing. The Student Wellbeing Coordinator works within an interdisciplinary team of Teachers, Heads of Senior School, and other school staff to identify students who require wellbeing support, collaborate on program initiatives for students, and drive the college approach to child safety and the development, as well as Protective Behaviours Curriculum and Protective Behaviours strategy. In addition, develop, coordinate and facilitate reintegration programs and meetings where required. Now let’s talk about you.
You will be joining SEDA College WA as a pivotal part of a dedicated and successful team. This is an important role, so it goes without saying that you will need to have a Certificate IV or Diploma in Youth Work, or Degree in Social work or Psychology. You will also need to have experience with being part of a youth focused service, working with young people in an education or community setting with demonstrated capacity to build rapport and communicate with secondary students in an effective and timely manner on mental health and wellbeing issues. You will also need to have well-developed written communication skills, including an ability to provide written reports and general correspondence between staff and external agencies. You are a person who can problem solve on the spot to identify problems and establish appropriate solutions, while using a high level of confidentiality of student issues. You will also need to have a current and valid Driver’s License, vehicle and hold a current working with children card as well as National Police Clearance. If required, an application for a working with children check can be made upon successful appointment.
You will have demonstrated flexibility, dependability, strong organisational skills including planning and time management with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances. You will have strong interpersonal and well-developed verbal and written communication skills combined with a positive attitude as you will be a role model for our SEDA College WA core values.

Please note that the Student Wellbeing Coordinator is generally not required at the College during school holiday periods, unless requested by school leadership.
