JOB DESCRIPTION

Jabiru Community Youth & Children’s Services is a for-purpose social enterprise founded in 1986, which is centred on providing community support to children, young people, families and community members across greater Brisbane. Currently we are an organisation of just over 200 employees.

As an organisation, we not only deliver school-age care, we engage with a range of educational-based communities, including delivering student support services, and employment and training programs. We genuinely know the challenges of working within the educational ecosystem, including curriculum development, recreational activities, social and emotional support for children and families, and working within Education Queensland systems and structures.

The Role:

Jabiru has an exciting opportunity to join the organisation in the brand-new role of a Student Support Worker!

This role is designed to support children in school who have been identified as requiring additional emotional and behavioural support to support inclusive practices across a variety of areas within school!

The role details are:

  • Working at Mitchelton State School
  • The role will be part time for 13 hours per week.

About you:

  • Minimum qualification in Certificate IV in Youth Work or an equivalent/higher qualification including competency in mental health!
  • Hold or have the ability to obtain a Paid Blue Card.
