We are seeking a Student Wellbeing Support person to join our girls Primary School. This is a permanent full time role commencing as soon as possible.
Role purpose;
The Student Wellbeing Support person will be responsible for providing advice, support and counselling to both groups of students and individuals requiring social, emotional and behavioural assistance.
The Student Wellbeing Support person will be a key member of the Wellbeing Team and report directly to the Head of Student Services.
Key responsibilities of this role will be to;
- provide counselling for students, and provide support for relevant parents and teachers in response to need;
- support proactive welfare, social and emotional learning programs and workshops;
- liaise with the relevant teachers and parents / carers in relation to students
- make recommendations and provide information and support to the senior staff of Yeshivah Primary (i.e. in relation to specific students, in times of crisis etc.);
- make recommendations and assist in the case management of students and families that need to be referred / reported to external agencies i.e. DHHS, Child First, Jewish Care, SECASA, police etc.;
- occasionally present at parent information forums, or conduct targeted staff training;
- carry out relevant administrative duties such as pastoral care reporting in SEQTA, maintaining up to date confidential reports and notes; and
- keep abreast of latest research and advice in areas of bullying, peer pressure, family issues, sexual abuse, death and grief, anxiety and social and behavioural issues.
