Indie College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that provides alternative accredited education and training to support both youth and adults re-engage into education and training. In partnership with Indie School, we offer alternative educational programs supporting a mixed cohort, including disengaged youth, adults with low literacy and numeracy skills and people with a disability. We strive to develop literacy and numeracy skills, build confidence, support goal setting and develop sustainable employability skills.  

Indie College Bacchus Marsh is seeking a full time Trainer and Assessor (Education Coach) to deliver alternative Education Programs.

Trainers must, hold a current Australian Driver’s License and own a reliable vehicle, hold current qualifications equal to or above the qualification being delivered or be willing to obtain these qualifications, as well as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) including LLN units.

Core Workplace Objectives

  • Provide a flexible supportive approach to teach and mentor students in small groups of up to 10 students.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of, RTO standards, function of Training Packages, requirements of ASQA and VET related funding bodies.
  • Develop knowledge to demonstrate current industry skills directly relevant to the training being delivered.
  • Obtain Qualifications to deliver training.

Workplace Tasking & Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging training to a mixed cohort of students.
  • Follow training and assessment programs using material according to the requirements of Indie College.
  • Completion of training and assessment documentation according to organisational policies and procedures.
  • Administer enrolments, student data entry, tracking of student progress, input and modification to various funding and reporting body database systems.
  • Administer course progression records including student coursework scanning and storage, meeting compliance obligations.
  • Provide advice to students on the enrolment procedure.  
  • Use a full range of desktop based programs to meet the requirements of the role.
  • Maintain resources required for training delivery, and report any faults or requests for replenishment to the Administration Office.
  • Submit invoices according to the organisations standard operating procedures.
  • Implement ‘Duty of Care’ procedures for all students according to the context of the training and in accordance with all relevant legislation.
  • Complete training documentation in line with organisational policies and procedures to set deadlines.
  • Demonstrate resilience in dealing with a mixed cohort of students that may be experiencing low socioeconomic status, low literacy and numeracy skills, low schooling achievement, disengagement with education or other personal issues.

  • have strong interpersonal skills and the abilty to work as part of a strong team;
  • be highly organised and have strong attention to detail;
  • have experience and/or demonstrated ability in working with youth;
  • demonstrate the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines;
  • have strong written and oral communication skills;
  • have basic computer skills and database knowledge.

Remuneration:

  • $60,651 plus super 
  • Fuel Allowance based upon location
  • Salary Packaging through Maxxia.
