Support Coordinator – Way Back Service New Horizons

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Support Coordinator in the Way Back Service, you will play a crucial role in providing essential support to individuals in crisis. You will be responsible for coordinating services and resources to ensure a seamless journey for customers during their transition from crisis to stability. Your empathetic nature, excellent communication skills, and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders will contribute to the success of our mission to prevent suicide and support mental wellness. The position will be instrumental in providing individualised, recovery-focussed and practical support to our customers, in the first 3 months following a suicide attempt. 

We are on the lookout for a compassionate and driven Support Coordinator to join our Way Back Service and provide support in the Far North Coast on a max term full time basis until 28th June 2024. 

The position can be based in Tweed or Lismore. Working days and hours are from Monday to Friday 8.00 AM to 4.30 PM.

  • Passion, Respect & Integrity 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health or Social Services related fields 
  • National Criminal History Check (Police Check) and Working with Children Check 
  • Valid NSW Drivers C class licence, with ability to drive vehicles in licence class, including large cars & vans 
  • Must be fit to undertake the physical requirements of customer support, including the capacity to lift 10 kilograms unassisted 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and also in a team environment 
  • Ability and confidence to communicate and work with other staff outside of the immediate team 
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities according to agreed timeframes and quality standards 
  • Preparedness to travel to between Tweed Head and surrounding areas
