About the position
The Mental Health Community Living Supports for Refugees (MH CLS-R) Program supports people from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds who are experiencing psychological distress, mental ill health and impaired functioning to live and participate in the community in the way they want to.
This position works closely with program participants and their families, the MHCLS-R support Worker, Key Workers and other stakeholders to provide trauma informed person centred care. The focus of this role is to provide practical assistance to participants for example teaching daily life skills to build independence. The right person will take a trauma-informed recovery-oriented and culturally safe approach to improve mental health and wellbeing program participants.

This is a full time or part time opportunity located in Wollongong until June 2027.

What you’ll need
- Tafe qualifications in mental health, health, or community/social services discipline, or working toward (Minimum Certificate IV)
- Demonstrated commitment to working from a recovery orientation, in line with the National Framework for Recovery Oriented Mental Health Services
- Demonstrated skills in engagement and collaboration, with the capability to build and maintain positive working relationships, both within the team and across a range of stakeholders
