About the Role

We are looking for a part time Support Worker to join a multidisciplinary team of professionals that focuses on delivering a timely, coordinated, client centred and culturally appropriate response to women and children affected by family and domestic violence. 

Support Workers at Albany Women’s Centre provide a 24 hour service, offering a safe refuge and support services to improve the safety, resilience and capability of vulnerable women and their children experiencing family and domestic violence and prevent homelessness. 

This is a part time (22.5 hours per week), maximum term role based in Albany.

About You

To be successful you will have:

  • Diploma level qualifications in social work, psychology or related discipline, or certificate level qualification with relevant experience, or sufficient relevant experience
  • Ability to engage and build strong relationships with clients who have been impacted by family and domestic violence
  • A developed understanding of the dynamics of family and domestic violence
  • Experience providing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders (ATSI) and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) clients
  • Up to date knowledge of resources in the local area
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution, advocacy and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently across the local region on regular outreach

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.  In line with Anglicare WA policy, WA Government Health Directions and Public Health Orders, workers at Albany Women’s Centre are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Benefits

  • $66,379 per annum pro rata plus 10.5% superannuation
  • In addition to your remuneration, you will enjoy generous tax-free salary packaging benefits where you can package up to $15,900 per annum and not pay tax on that amount
  • Additional 3 days (pro-rata) leave per year
