Support Worker – Family Mental Health Support Service IMPACT Community Services

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Family Mental Health Support Service provides early intervention and support to assist children and young people with or at risk of developing mental health concerns. 

Due to expansion in this program, we are recruiting for multiple Support Workers, in a permanent full-time capacity.

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Meet with children and young people and their families for assessments and referrals
  • Provide continuity of care to the child or young person and support tangible improvements in their day-to-day life
  • Undertake case management with children and young people
  • Lead group activities with children and young people and provide one-on-one support 
  • Maintain case notes and data
  • Promote IMPACT’s service and community and public awareness of mental health issues

To enjoy this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field, e.g. mental health, youth work, social work
  • Demonstrated experience working with young people who have mental health concerns
  • Relevant life experience and/or understanding of the issues facing people with a mental health concerns
  • Experience in conducting intakes and assessments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to engage in community networking opportunities
