Team Leader / Clinician – Counselling

  • Box Hill and Eltham locations
  • Competitive salary including salary packaging
  • Part Time role (0.8 FTE)

Our role is also supporting people to self-manage long-term health conditions, such as diabetes and mental health challenges, with multidisciplinary teams delivering community-based programs in a comfortable setting. We also support people, including older people and people with disability, to stay living at home longer and to live well in their community. 

Our broad range of primary health services, care management and in home and community support services can be tailored to an individual’s needs and with major hubs in Box Hill and Eltham, these services can be delivered locally, in the Eastern and North Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a Team Leader / Counsellor to join our supportive and professional multidisciplinary teams in a flexiblepart time capacity 0.8EFT

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Provide day-to-day management, leadership and troubleshooting in the delivery of program services that are high quality, efficient and effective. 
  • Coordinate staff leave, rosters, resources and program coverage 
  • Identify and manage risks, particularly clinical risks, as part of the service’s risk management framework
  • Monitor waiting list management to ensure effective and efficient service delivery
  • Work with the Program manager to implement strategies to ensure individual staff targets are achieved 
  • Attend Family Violence funded meetings and training
  • Represent the service through other relevant networks and working groups as required
  • Assist with staff recruitment and management to ensure the achievement of the organisation’s strategic directions and program objectives
  • Provide support to staff and clinical supervision within scope of practice and set clear performance expectations 
  • Support student placements
  • Manage a small caseload of general and family violence counselling clients

Skills & Experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification 
  • Demonstrated experience with family violence and general counselling
  • Experience in supporting service delivery and teams
  • Skills and experience in supporting teams to deliver services that are high in quality, efficient and effective. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
