Team Leader Counselling

  • Eltham & Box Hill Locations
  • Part time position – 4 days per week (0.8EFT)

Our role is also supporting people to self-manage long-term health conditions, such as diabetes and mental health challenges, with multidisciplinary teams delivering community-based programs in a comfortable setting. We also support people, including older people and people with disability, to stay living at home longer and to live well in their community. 

Our broad range of primary health services, care management and in home and community support services can be tailored to an individual’s needs and with major hubs in Box Hill and Eltham, these services can be delivered locally, in the Eastern and North Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. 

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic, outcome focused person as the Team Leader for our Counselling Service in a Part Time (0.8 EFT) capacity.  Reporting to Program Manager for Mental Health & Counselling, you will be responsible for supporting a multi-disciplinary team comprising of General Counselling, Reconnect, School Focused Youth Service, Family Support Worker and Neuropsychologists. 

The Service follows a policy of encouraging the principles of self-help, empowerment and advocacy in all its service provision, and works closely with relevant health and welfare services within the services and across the regions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day management, leadership and troubleshooting in the delivery of program services that are high quality, efficient and effective
  • Identify and manage risks, particularly clinical risks, as part of the service’s risk management framework
  • Provide support to staff and clinical supervision within scope of practice, set and monitor clear performance expectations
  • Present an energised profile with decisive decision making related to day-to-day management of program and provide clear communication to build a strong, positive focus with your staff

Skills & Experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Experience in co-ordinating teams to deliver high quality, efficient and effective services
  • Well-developed problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution and mediation skills
