The Opportunity
The Team Leader, Family Safety – Women and Children is a full-time, fixed-term role to 24 December 2024 based at Family Life’s Sandringham and Frankston sites with some work from home days. The position provides effective leadership to the Women’s Family Violence Counselling and Family Safety Contact teams within the wider Family Safety program.
Key Responsibility Areas
The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leadership of culture and line management of the Family Safety Team, including (but not limited to) managing team-based and individual performance and development planning.
- Leading and supervising a team of staff to deliver counselling and therapeutic support to women and children.
- Overseeing inbound referrals and coordinating the allocation of referrals to practitioners across the women and children’s program areas.
- Leading and supervising the team’s practice regarding risk assessment, risk management and safety planning.
- Developing and reporting on a Team Work Plan to deliver delegated allocated Family Safety responsibilities.
- Leading quality assurance processes and developing responses to best practice guidelines including innovation of current processes to better respond to organisational requirements and community need.
- Representing the organisation in appropriate service networking and service development forums to build, develop and maintain stakeholder relationships.
- Maintaining all required documentation to evidence impact and effectiveness of service delivery in a complete, accurate and timely manner, as required by the organisation’s standards and program contracts.
- Supporting the leadership team by working an evening shift as the Late-Night Manager to support client service delivery.
- Supporting practice innovation and practice development.
Our Ideal Candidate
You are bachelor qualified in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Family Therapy or a related field and have extensive knowledge of the complexities and impacts of Family Violence. Leading a team is not new to you as you have led a high performing team in a previous role with a focus on innovation and positive culture. You are experienced in providing clinical supervision and training for practitioners and have the knowledge and ability to apply a number of psychological interventions and competencies to guide and support your team in their therapeutic practice.
You are a great communicator who possesses highly effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills and are able to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
