About the job…

We are seeking a Full-Time Team Leader to join our friendly team in Rockhampton until 30 June 2025 with possibility for extension. Extension of employment contract is subject to the continued government funding.

This role will be responsible for overseeing the practice of a small team of Family Support Practitioners in our Intensive Family Support service. The role of the IFS is to deliver intensive, time-limited support services and supported referrals to specialist services to address multiple and/or complex needs of families and improve family well-being, strength, and resilience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the professional practice of the Intensive Family Support team.
  • Line manage a small team of practitioners and provide one on one supervision to each team member.
  • Assess referrals into IFS and screen for domestic and family violence and undertake risk assessments where domestic and family violence is identified. 
  • Provide team members and enquirers with advice on safe engagement strategies for families affected by domestic and family violence, including participating in-home visits where appropriate. 

About you…

  • Tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (Allied Health, Social Work, Human Services).
  • Professional registration (if required) and membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
  • At least 5 years’ experience providing case-management and therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people and children in the child protection framework.
  • At least 5 years working in a domestic and family violence capacity either with male perpetrators or in a generalist capacity.
  • Relevant experience supervising staff in similar role.
  • Highly developed communication, problem solving and teamwork skills.

About the pay…

  • Position is classified Level 6 under the SCHCADS award.
  • Salary range is $102,555 – $107,080 per annum plus superannuation

  • Eligibility for a positive Working with Children Check in the applicable state of employment in Australia or exemption based on professional qualifications and registration.
  • Current driver’s licence.
