ABOUT US

Friends for Good is an Australian loneliness pioneer. We were the first organisation to work solely on the issue of loneliness. We provide direct services, undertake research and hold community education activities. We partner with a broad range of individuals and groups and chair the Friendship Alliance, a national group working together on the issues of social isolation and loneliness.

We have recently launched a national Telehealth counselling service where Australian’s can easily access the counselling they need, from the comfort of their own homes. Our aim is to bridge the gap and make mental health services more accessible, affordable and inclusive, eliminating barriers such as, cost, transportation, mobility, and long wait lists.

Our telehealth counselling service operates Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. Counsellors can work from home and have the flexibility to choose the specific days and times they are available within this schedule. This allows for a healthy work-life balance and the ability to accommodate individual preferences.

Using telephonic or video platforms, you will conduct counselling sessions to deliver evidence-based therapeutic techniques in a compassionate and empathetic manner. Adhering to the highest ethical standards, you will assess client needs, develop tailored treatment plans, and actively listen to provide non-judgmental support. Your dedication will be instrumental in helping individuals achieve improved mental well-being and facilitate positive changes in their lives.

About you:

To be successful within this role you’ll bring with you:

– Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines and professional codes of conduct.

– Flexibility to work remotely and independently, with a reliable internet connection, appropriate technology setup and a private room/space that can be used to conduct counselling sessions.
