What you’ll do

Provide therapeutic assessment and casework to the Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) clients, partners and family members of MBC clients, liaising with relevant agencies in support of the client and their family. The position works as part of the Family Safety Team, contributes to program and service development, and supports the program including promoting services to clients and stakeholders.
  
In addition, you’ll

    • Provide quality therapeutic assessment and therapeutic casework for MBC program participants focusing on behaviour change and safety for women and children
    • Provide quality therapeutic assessment and casework for the partners and families of MBC program participants focusing on support and advocacy to victims/survivors of DFV
    • Provide casework intervention as required and in consultation with the Team Leader
    • Apply person centred, trauma informed, MBC practice and strength-based approach to working with clients
    • Assess and refer clients to relevant services according to client identified need
    • Assess the risks to victims and needs of children and other family members

The details:

  • Hybrid working model available
  • Contract to 30/6/23 with possibility to extend
  • Approx $46 p/h + super + salary packaging benefits
  • Based at Blacktown – 4 days a week 

What you’ll bring

  • Formal graduate qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant disciplines
  • Minimum 2 years experience in working with families that have experienced family domestic violence
  • Casework experience with individuals and families
  • Experience in working with men who use violence
  • Experience in working with women and children who are victims/survivors of Domestic Violence
  • Experience with working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and ability to ensure cultural safety
  • Experience in facilitating men’s behaviour change programs is desirable)
