Therapeutic Clinician, The Courage Project Bravehearts

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Courage Project is a Bravehearts initiative that provides therapeutic and advocacy support to children and young people in North Queensland who have experienced, or are at risk of experiencing, abuse and/or self-harm.

We have a unique opportunity for a qualified counsellor to join our team in Mackay and provide trauma-informed mental health services for children under 14 years old who have experienced physical and/or sexual abuse and/or assault; and are at risk of self-harm. You will deliver a high level of service to our clients as well as undertake psychological and other assessments, maintain thorough case notes and participate in regular supervision.

What you will bring to Bravehearts:

  • A tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, counselling or a related field
  • 2 years experience in counselling and/or case management
  • Registration and/or membership with governing body of profession (essential)
  • A passion to work towards our mission of the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse.
