Relationships Australia NSW (RANSW) provides a safe, judgement-free environment where individuals, couples and families can address the critical matters impacting their relationships, and their lives.
What you’ll do
Provide therapeutic assessment and casework to the Let’s Talk Elder Program clients, and family members of clients, liaising with relevant agencies in support of the client and their family. The position is part of the Let’s Talk Team. You’ll contribute to the Let’s Talk program and service development and support the program including promoting services to clients and stakeholders.
In addition, you’ll
- Provide a range of interventions to older people, their family members and relevant support people who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing elder abuse, family conflict and who need support
- Provide therapeutic case management and referrals to elder clients with respect to family conflict and dispute, ageing and age-related issues
- Provide professional intake which includes assessment of the needs of elders, their families, and other participants; screening for eligibility and suitability; and ensuring safety for clients and staff
- Provide information to clients and make referrals to and from RANSW services and other related community services
The details:
- Contract to 30/6/23 with possibility to extend
- Multiple locations available – Hunter region, Penrith, Dee Why, Macquarie Park, Sydney City
- 3 or 4 days per week + hybrid working options available
- Approx $46 per hour + super + salary packaging benefits
What you’ll bring
- Formal graduate qualifications in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or other relevant disciplines
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in working with families that have experienced family domestic violence
- Casework experience with individuals and families who are victims/survivors of Domestic Violence
- Experience with working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and ability to ensure cultural safety
- An interest and passion to work with the elderly
