The Opportunity
The Therapeutic Practice Coordinator will work directly in regional Operations alongside leadership and front-line teams to support and guide the service in providing therapeutic care to young people we support informed by Safe Places for Children Integrated Practice Framework, evidence-based practice, and innovations in therapeutic, trauma-informed care.
The Therapeutic Practice Coordinator will have oversight in the daily care of young people and play a key role in influencing case planning to ensure care decisions are made in the best interests of the young person and preferred models of care are consistently applied within the service and practice.

Delivers Trusted Advice. Remains current with best practice in trauma informed care, legislative knowledge and licensing process applying this when advising on practice on therapeutic strategies and behavior support planning. Be an advocate and guide for meeting the therapeutic needs of young people through engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

Promote Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). Will be able to offer and deliver a variety of TCI training packages which can be tailored to the needs of the area.

Post-crisis support. Support front-line team members and operational leaders to provide post crisis responses and support following critical incidents, including critical incident analysis.

Facilitate case review functions at a local level to provide recommendations and expertise in care planning through Case Clinics, and associated documentation including PBSP’s in a way that drives quality outcomes and therapeutic care for our Young People.

Provide a voice to the Young People in our care through annual survey’s, team meetings and site visits.

Consult, as required, on intakes and referrals, including risk assessments and supporting the team to prepare the property and planning after a referral has been confirmed.
About You
Our Therapeutic Practice Coordinator will bring a genuine passion to make a difference in the lives of young people and our communities, holding certain attributes and demonstrated knowledge and experience.

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work, or related discipline or Diploma of Community Services (or related discipline) and minimum 2 years relevant experience.
