About the role

Are you seeking an exciting opportunity to work in an innovative therapeutic program within the community services sector?

The Sexual Abuse Counselling and Prevention Program (SACPP) is a highly regarded program that provides specialist therapeutic services to children and young people up to age 18 who have been sexually abused and children aged 10 – 18 years of age exhibiting problematic sexualised behaviours.

You will:

  • Lead a team of clinicians who deliver innovative and evidence-informed interventions to support vulnerable families who have engaged in or been harmed by sexually abusive behaviours.
  • Be required to undertake expert clinical work with children, young people, and their families.
  • Provide clinical and operational oversight to the team through clinical supervision and performance and ensure the program meets relevant service targets and standards.
  • Be an active participant in both individual and group supervision and reflective practice.
  • To contribute to the development and delivery of community development and promotion on a range of issues that arise out of the work to support, inform and educate those working with the effects of sexual abuse, and sexually abusive behaviours.

About you:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, child and family social welfare or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in the leadership of multidisciplinary teams, including the provision of clinical supervision and the facilitation of clinical review and performance management processes.
  • Have related counselling experience as well as proven experience leading a counselling program and experience in group work
  • Proven experience in the trauma and sexual abuse field within similar organisations, possess a strong knowledge of the sexual abuse service system, including all relevant legislation and standards and be tertiary qualified in social work, psychology or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the use of current theoretical approaches and best practices for working with children, young people
  • Demonstrated capability to network and build productive relationships with stakeholders both inside and outside organisational boundaries.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead and support change, and innovation and contribute to quality improvements at an organisational/operational level and families where sexual abuse has occurred.
