We are currently seeking a solutions-oriented, high-energy, and skilled Therapeutic Support Worker to provide evidence-based services and support to children and young people.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Therapeutic Support Worker, your main responsibilities will include:
– Personal care assistance, ensuring the well-being and comfort of children and young people.
– Supporting and maintaining a tidy and hygienic environment.
– Utilizing crisis intervention techniques based on the understanding of the iceberg model of behaviours.
– Completing accurate case notes and incident reports.
– Reporting any risks of harm to the relevant government bodies.
– Actively engaging children and young people in activities that promote a sense of safety and well-being.
– Implementing authorised restricted practices when required.
-Identifying behaviours of concern and handling aggressive behaviour of concern including Schizophrenia
-Tech savvy and have sound knowledge of computer coding software’s
-Sound knowledge of medication administration
SKILLS REQUIRED:
To excel in this role, you will need:
– Empathy and the ability to maintain professional boundaries while being empathetic.
– Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively.
– Proficient writing and verbal communication skills.
– Strong negotiation skills to navigate complex situations effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
To be considered for this position, you should have one of the following:
1. At least 1 year of experience working with children and young people experiencing complex trauma, along with PART (Psychological and Relational Trauma) training and TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) training.
OR
2. At least 2 years of experience working with children and young people experiencing complex trauma, along with PART training.
OR
3. At least 5 years of experience in a related field, demonstrated experience in managing assaultive, aggressive, and complex behaviors, and relevant trauma-informed training.
