Therapy Assistants help improve the quality of life for every individual accessing aged care services with Juniper. They listen, care, engage with and enable people to make the most of their abilities and take part as they choose to. We are now seeking to appoint an enthusiastic person, passionate about this vocation, to join the Allied Health team at our Juniper Korumup facility, located in Albany.
In this role you will assist in the delivery of high quality therapy services, and provide one on one care to high fall risk residents between the hours of 3pm to 7pm, at least 3 days per week. This role will be highly rewarding as you will be providing a valuable service to venerable residents in need.
On offer is a permanent part-time position available to work between 12-16 hours per week, 3pm to 7pm, Monday through to Sunday!
Key Responsibilities of this role:
- Assist residents and aged care consumers with group and individual activity programs designed to stimulate cognitive ability
- Contributes to the evaluation of care plans
- Actively contribute to the development and implementation of innovative and balanced activity programs which meet the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of each individual.
- Assists therapists in maintaining/improving functional independence
- Completes therapy statistics on a daily basis
- Provides feedback to therapists on the outcome of interventions
The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
- Completion of a Certificate III in Allied Health (Highly Regarded)
- Experience working as a Therapy Assistant or Lifestyle Coordinator is desirable
- Experience working in the Aged Care Industry, in either community or residential
- Verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, residents, consumers, families and service providers
