Towards Zero Suicide in Care Coordinator Northern NSW Local Health District

Remuneration: $62.09 – $67.80 per hour (dependent on qualification)

Leading the implementation of the NSW Towards Zero Suicides in Care initiative in the Northern NSW Local Health Districts (NNSWLHD) Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services with key mental health and alcohol and other drugs personnel, people with lived experience of suicidality, key members of the community managed sector and other key stakeholders. 

This will include the components of: Just and Restorative Culture, Pathways to Care, Assertive Outreach Teams, and Alternatives to the Emergency Department. Target populations include Aboriginal people, LGBTI, young people and men.

If you have:

  • Tertiary qualifications and, where applicable, membership of the relevant association or registration with the relevant board, in one of the following disciplines: Social Work, Occupational Therapist, Psychology, Nursing. To be appointed to a specific discipline and grade/level, please refer to the Essential Requirements section for registration and qualification requirements
  • Proven clinical expertise in working with people experiencing suicidality and their families/key support people, with demonstrated ability to navigate complex clinical and psychosocial situations
  • Applied understanding of the principles of person centred care, trauma informed care and recovery, as well as in working with Aboriginal people in a holistic, collaborative and respectful way in the context of suicidality
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines, across the mental health, alcohol and other drugs, and community managed sector, and lived experience consultants, in teams, as well as independently with minimal supervision applying attributes such as courage, integrity, optimism and humour
