The Role
Come join our dynamic team in this exciting opportunity.
We are looking for 3 passionate Trainer and Assessor’s with experience working with young people at risk to deliver the Certificate II in General Education for Adults to students (aged between 15-24) under the Jobs and Skills program.
Young people referred to our Jobs and Skills program have experienced significant barriers to education. We provide safe, trauma informed and inclusive environments where training and learning is adjusted to meet individual student needs, resulting in lasting, meaningful progress fostering opportunities and hope for every student.
The successful candidate will have the ability to set clear boundaries, ensuring their interactions with young people are positive and productive. You must be able to work autonomously and be trusted to prepare, deliver, and assess all aspects of the qualification delivered throughout each 10-week program. The program will also include the integration of incursions to compliment and create pathways for students.
Building relationships with referring agencies to achieve maximum enrolments along with engagement and completion of all required modules by the students is a key aspect of this role and ensuring the program is successful. Delivering a quality program which achieves exceptional training outcomes for students and key stakeholders is important in creating futures for our students.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, with a real passion for educating young people to be the best they can be.
We have multiple opportunities available in the following locations; Cannington, Rockingham and Midland with some travel required to visit our RTO office in Cannington. The role is offered on a fixed term full-time basis working 76 hours a fortnight.
Selection Criteria
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or Equivalent)
- Certificate III in General Education for Adults (22474VIC or Equivalent)
- Proven experience as a Trainer and Assessor in Foundation Skills Training (CGEA, FSK, Leadership), Degree in Education.
- Experience working with and mentoring/supporting Young People at Risk.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, without direct supervision.
- Drive and manage student induction/enrolment for allocated group/site
- Liaise and develop relationships with referring agents to ensure continued referrals and student support.
- Knowledge and training in Trauma Informed Practice, Inclusive Practices and Child Safety Practices
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Complete all administration tasks related to the program’s delivery including collaboration with Communicare’s Registered Training Organisation.
- Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
- Unrestricted drivers’ licence
- Working With Children Check
