Clarkson and Joondalup – Full Time

The role:

An exciting opportunity has been created for a passionate Youth Peer Mentor to join an established and successful employment and training provider at our Clarkson and Joondalup site. We have an established team delivering services to young people within the Transition to Work program contract in Perth North!

In this role you will build and develop positive relationships for Participants engaged in the Organisations’ services, providing support and mentoring that enables them to thrive in their education and employment.

You will be a voice for their views and facilitate their contribution to the design of the services they receive. The Youth Peer Mentor will be someone who loves building relationships in the community to strengthen pathways to opportunities for education and employment!

The position requires a flexible, mature minded, outcome focused individual who has a can-do attitude, with a high level of interpersonal communication and organisational skills. 
 

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A sound understanding of issues faced by youth, unemployed and disadvantaged people 
  • Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with a strong emphasis on engaging young people whilst supporting them to maintain education or employment
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast paced, outcome focussed environment 
  • Qualifications in Employment Services, Youth Work, Training, Human Resource Management or Behavioural Sciences an advantage but not essential.
  • Relevant experience in the Employment Services or similar industry (highly desirable)
