The Role – What we are looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for a Psychologist or Counsellor to join our therapy team in the Central Coast, on a full-time or part-time basis. You will be supporting vocational and holistic goals as a psychologist or counsellor receiving referrals from employment consultants. In this role you will be providing counselling interventions for behaviour, mental health & well-being, focused towards supporting people to return to work. A key part of the role will be working within the disability employment sector and supporting individuals with vocational counselling. We provide counselling supports to individuals presenting with a range of mental health concerns, including Anxiety, Depression, Drug and Alcohol and Trauma. You may also provide counselling to individuals with a disability who have funding for psychological supports under the NDIS.

The successful candidate will work with the dedicated and friendly counselling team who are spread across Sydney and the Central Coast. You will also receive regular clinical supervision (2 hours per month and a professional development budget of $1000 per year).

Essential Criteria:

  • Registration with appropriate registering body (general or provisional registration) e.g. AHPRA, ACA, PACFA
  • Knowledge of disability services.
  • Knowledge of Keep Them Safe guidelines and mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of the Disability Inclusion Act 2014, National Disability Insurance Scheme and current reform in the disability sector.
  • A current NSW driver’s licence.
  • Evidence of Covid-19 Vaccination including booster

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of the disability employment sector, including experience delivering vocational counselling and supporting individuals in returning to work.
  • Knowledge of psychological testing, including IQ assessments and vocational assessments. 
  • Knowledge of disability support for participants with the NDIS including psychological intervention and supports for persons with an intellectual/psychological/physical disability.
