The Role

  • Location: Gosford and Central Coast
  • Hours: Flexible hours – Part-time and Full-time
  • Remuneration: From $40.80 per hour + super + $15,900 in NFP salary packaging and Meal & Entertainment card

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Counsellor to work within the Ability Options Counselling team, which comprises of experienced Allied Health Practitioners including Rehabilitation Counsellors, Psychologists, Mental Health Social Workers and Registered Counsellors.

You will deliver a range of services to participants across the Gosford and Central Coast region.

You will use your knowledge and experience to provide; Vocational and therapeutic counselling services and behaviour-based supports to people in different environments and facilitate group training sessions. Your role will require you to work collaboratively with others to ensure the individuals we support are empowered to reach their goals.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registration with appropriate registering body e.g. ASORC, RCAA, AHPRA, PACFA etc.
  • Experienced providing professional vocational counselling services to clients (Jobseekers) with complex barriers towards employment.
  • Skilled in working within a person-centred, strength- based, solution focussed framework.
  • Knowledge of Keep Them Safe guidelines and mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of the Disability Inclusion Act 2014, National Disability Insurance Scheme and current reform in the disability sector.
  • A current NSW driver’s licence.
  • Background Checks including NDIS Workers Check and Working with Children Check.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of Employment & NDIS Services and programs
  • Experience in developing and facilitating therapeutic group programs.
