Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Tuggeranong. We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally-tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT.
About the position
headspace Tuggeranong offers Work and Study support through the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) program.
We are seeking an energetic experienced vocational specialist to join our team. The Vocational Specialist will work with young people who experience barriers to employment and/or education to develop strong support plans to ensure they achieve their short and long term vocational and educational goals. This will involve assertive outreach work combined with excellent youth engagement skills to ensure young people are well supported and are linked to suitable employment opportunities.
The specialist will also provide vocational leadership to clinical staff within the centre and actively develop partnerships with a wide range of external organisations to enhance vocational outcomes for young people. This will include extensive contact with employers, training providers, educational institutions, community service organisations and other health professionals. You will connect and collaborate with Vocational Specialists from all GPH headspace sites offering work and study programs.

This is a full-time position fixed term position until June 2024 with the possibility of extension. Part time negotiable must be able to work Monday.
We are looking for someone with:
- Tertiary qualifications and/or experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, career development or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of issues that impact young people when accessing employment and/or educational opportunities.
- An understanding of the Individual Placement and Support model
- Experience developing good business relationships.
- Knowledge of the employment services sector, Centrelink and other state and federal employment initiatives that impact young people.
