Lives Lived Well is a leading support organisation for people who have problems with alcohol and drugs as well as other addictions such as gambling and associated mental health issues. We provide support services including residential rehabilitation and community counselling in more than 40 locations across Queensland and NSW.
About the service
With the goal to encourage residents to live life well Logan House, located at Chambers Flat, offers a specialist alcohol and drug treatment residential program. Our program aims to provide a safe and supportive environment free from alcohol, illicit substances and non-prescription medication to support our resident’s treatment journey.
About the role
We are looking for a passionate professional with experience and qualifications in the alcohol and other drug sector to join our team. In this position, you will complete the intake processes with clients on admission day. You will also facilitate and provide direct support to clients to manage varying needs and requirements related to their wellbeing.
This is a permanent, part-time (30.4 hours per week), permanent position.
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
- Routinely gather and collect specific information that provides a detailed understanding of the varying needs related to the welfare of all residential clients.
- Assist clients through providing support, service coordination, referral and advocacy so that they can effectively manage commitments to external agencies i.e. Queensland Corrective Services, Department of Child Safety, SPER etc.
- Develop strong networks with external agencies to further support client need.
- Ensure that client records, data collection and reporting are continuously updated, consistent with confidentiality and relevant practice standards.
- Facilitate as ongoing, duties that require knowledge of local procedures, guidelines and/or statutory regulations relevant to organisational policy and procedures.
About you
To be successful, you will have a professional and passionate approach to working with our clients in supporting them through their recovery journey.
Additionally, you will possess the following:
- A strong understanding of evidence based practice in an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) setting (i.e. harm minimisation approach, supporting dually diagnosed clients etc.)
- Experience in case management in a community services setting
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services discipline with additional AOD qualifications highly regarded
- Highly developed communication and engagement skills
The hourly rate for this role is $34.04 per hour to $36.50 per hour, depending on skills, exp. and qualifications + super (10.5%) + salary packaging.
