This is a term time role that will work Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 4.00pm commencing in January 2023.
The Lakes College as a Ministry of the Uniting Church is a growing independent P-12 school located in the heart of North Lakes and the wider Moreton Bay Region.
We are seeking to engage an experienced Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Assistant to support the Head of Secondary (Wellbeing) with the management of student wellbeing matters including diary management, stakeholder engagement and program delivery.
As Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Assistant you will also work closely with the Year Level Coordinators, Pastoral Care Teachers and College Counsellor.
The successful candidate will be passionate about the wellbeing of young people, demonstrating a deep desire and commitment to supporting the learning journey of students through an established network of care that speaks to their social and emotional health and wellbeing within an education and care setting.
Privacy, confidentiality, and efficiency are inherent requirements of this role, with the Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Assistant required to protect and safeguard the sensitivity of all matters pertaining to student at the College.
This role will operate in a main reception environment and as such the successful candidate must present as professional and collegial at all times, being the first point of contact for business operations of the Secondary sub school.

- Demonstrated experience providing administrative support (i.e. diary management, meeting agendas and minutes, formal correspondence and emails).
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining productive and collegial relationships.
- Intermediate to advanced IT skills across common platforms (i.e word, excel, outlook, powerpoint and teams)
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and resolve issues independently.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective office systems and processes to support the management of competing tasks.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure that tight deadlines are met in a changing and often competing environment.
- Strong customer service focus meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
- Current PAID Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
Candidates with Restorative Practices Training and/or experience in a wellbeing context will be considered favourably.
