The Learn Engage Connect Young Parent’s Education Program, lead by the Frankston Mornington Peninsula LLEN, has joined forces with Foundation Learning Centre to provide a comprehensive education platform to cater to the unique needs of young parents juggling parenthood and academic aspirations. Our young parents are able to have their babies/children with them onsite being supported by a Childcare Support Worker. An experienced VIT trained teacher assists the students with their academic learning and all roles work closely together to provide wrap around support.
This position involves supporting pregnant and parenting mums aged 14 to 24 years, to complete their senior education. This part time (4 days per week) role located at our Peninsula Campus in Frankston, involves building rapport with young people in an alternative learning setting and working to address their needs that may have impacted negatively on their educational experience in the past. The role supports our students in their pregnancy and parenting journey including working with them in the area of transitions and pathways. Ideally you will have experience working with young people in education and experience with transitions and pathways.

Qualification and Experience:
A relevant tertiary or diploma qualification, in Youth Work, Social Work, Welfare Studies, Community services, Mental Health an AOD, Counselling is essential.
3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role is desirable.
Experience in transitions and pathways is essential.
