About the Role

  • Casual Position
  • Consumer Service Delivery Level 2 with a salary range of $36.04 – $38.64 (plus 25% casual loading)  
  • Salary Packaging arrangements providing tax benefits available for living and entertainment expenses increasing your take home income where part of your wage is paid tax free each pay, savings thousands in tax each year
  • Location: Townsville Head to Health

 

About your new role

Neami recognises that most of us have our own lived experience of mental ill-health or personal experience in supporting someone who has experienced mental health and/or AOD issues and as such possess a rich understanding of their experiences of mental health recovery. 

The Wellbeing Coaches must have their own lived experience of mental illness or personal experience in caring for someone who experiences mental illness and possess a rich understanding of their experiences of mental health recovery. As a Wellbeing Coach, you must be willing to purposefully use your own story to help others further their own understanding of recovery. The role will have access to a tailored training program and to regular opportunities to reflect upon and develop their practice.

 

What you will bring to the role? 

  • Certificate IV level qualifications in AOD, mental health or related field (or working towards)
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Lived experience of recovery
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer literacy and written communication skills

Desirable

  • Lived experience of mental ill-health and/or AOD or personal experience in supporting someone who has experienced mental health and/or AOD issues and as such possess an understanding of the experience of recovery
  • Experience working within a Social and Emotional Wellbeing framework.
  • Experience of the public or private mental health system 
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating groups, including the ability to prioritise different individual needs within a group

What the role requires: 

  • National Criminal History Check (Police check) – disclosable outcomes considered
  • Current Working with Children Check / Blue card required before commencement of work
