WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE
As a Wellbeing Counsellor, you will be responsible for delivering evidence-based clinical assessments and interventions that promote measurable outcomes in student mental health and wellbeing. You’ll cultivate a positive culture through educational workshops and events, catering to the diverse needs of our student community.
Your role will also involve nurturing strong relationships with external mental health service providers, ensuring our students have reliable access to comprehensive support. Your compliance with medical legislation and participation in peer supervision will ensure best practices and maintain the integrity of our services.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
To thrive in this role, you should hold a degree in Behavioural Sciences or Human Services with relevant experience in a similar role. Your expertise in mental health assessment and proven experience in counselling and case management will be critical in addressing the varying complexities of student needs.
We are seeking proactive team players who can handle a fast-paced work environment, contributing to the achievement of quality performance outcomes. Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in maintaining therapeutic relationships and liaising effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Holding a current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or a Queensland Working with Children Blue Card is also a requirement.
