Peer Support Australia (PSA) is a national non-profit organisation, which delivers a vital student led program that has been present in Australian schools for more than 50 years. We provide essential support and social emotional learning to positively impact the wellbeing of students. Through the delivery of the Peer Support Program, we work with schools across Australia to develop happy, confident and resilient young people.
The Program benefits whole school communities supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students, teachers and parents – which has a direct uplift on the educational outcomes of students. By helping young people to understand how to cope with hardship we can help them reach their full potential.
About the role
The Wellbeing Education Consultant is responsible for supporting and growing the community of Peer Support member schools. You will work with school communities to facilitate and understand the wellbeing needs of their students.
You will establish, build and maintain relationships with schools and other key stakeholders and provide training and expertise around how best to implement the Peer Support Program.
This role additionally undertakes tasks including:
- Facilitate workshops and follow-up with participants
- Develop and deliver training for teachers, students and parents
- Contribute to the development of a range of learning resources
- Lead projects on behalf of the Education Team
- Reporting and maintaining accurate records
- You will need to have flexibility to travel both intrastate and interstate
Skills and experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the field of health and wellbeing, or education sector
- Qualifications in either the field of education, psychology or social work preferable
- Excellent facilitation skills, with a demonstrated ability developing and implementing training and managing small and large group facilitation
- Passionate about student wellbeing and mental health
- Demonstrated ability and passion for delivering customer service excellence
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including MS Teams and SharePoint. Experience with Salesforce preferable

The successful candidate will require a current Working with Children Check, current driver’s licence and car and will need to provide proof of COVID-19 Vaccination.
