Compass Catholic Community is a fee-free senior secondary school for young people aged 17-24 who have not thrived in mainstream schooling and are looking to reengage with their education. 2022 is our first year of operation, and our rolling enrolments meant that we are growing in our student numbers weekly. This is a new role in our school, to provide support, guidance and leadership to our Whole School Wellbeing Model.
Compass Catholic Community is a part of The Northern Adelaide Education and Community Services Village, which seeks to be a welcoming, inclusive and meaningful place for the Northern region.
The Wellbeing Lead is a multi-faceted role, including facilitation of the School Wide Wellbeing Model, leadership and coordination of the Learning Supporters Team, direct student support and being part of the Compass broader team who work to facilitate student learning and engagement. This role also has a place on the Compass Leadership Team to bring Operational direction and leadership to our Learning Community.
As a Wellbeing Lead, you will have the ability to:
- Provide leadership to the Learning Supporters Team as they provide support to students, through a student- and growth-focused lens
- Participate in curriculum development where relevant to Wellbeing, and liaise with members of staff to develop and manage specific learning approaches in order to best meet the needs of students
- Coordinate and provide practical support and assist students to access appropriate support services, as well as formatting shared plans for longer term support
- Support a group of students in their wellbeing, learning and practical needs at Compass
To be successful in this role you will have experience with and passion for working with young people in growth-focused, positive and professional ways. You will have a proven track record providing best practice and evidence-based wellbeing and therapeutic care, to young people from complex backgrounds, and with complex needs. A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or other relevant field is essential.
Employment within Catholic Education South Australia is conditional upon the provision of evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 or the provision of a valid medical exemption in line with CESA policy.
This is a permanent 1.0 FTE ESO position at Compass Catholic Community and is offered in accordance with the SA Catholic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2017. The successful candidate will be expected to undergo our screening process.
